Playful Wayfinding

Common wayfinding tools value getting visitors from a to b as quickly and efficiently as possible. By using characteristics of the individual spaces, I propose alternative wayfinding tools that put a focus on exploring and experiencing the space. This approach has been manifested in a wayfinding adventure through the Merian Gardens – a botanical garden in Basel. Through a leaflet, visitors are led to and around a blooming botanical collection using wayfinding tools that highlight elements such as plant tags, width of walking paths, and sounds of the garden.
